Each year, the Finance Department coordinates the budget process for the City. Draft budgets are submitted by each City department for every City program and activity and reviewed by a budget committee in January. These accounts are compiled in a single budget document and this document serves as a financial plan for the City throughout the year. In May, the City Council is presented the preliminary City budget. For 2010-11, the City has adopted a balanced budget.
